How long until I receive my digital gallery?

My typical turnaround time is 3 weeks; This increases to 5 weeks for sessions taken place September through November.

Rush orders may be available for an additional fee.

Do you print my photos or do I?

I do not print your photos but I do provide you with a seamless and convenient way to print your images directly from your online gallery! You can order anything from wallets to large canvases to holiday cards and photo books. You do obtain all printing rights.

My professional print lab connected to your online gallery matches the color of the images I create perfectly for you so there are no surprises when you receive your prints. Ordering through your gallery will also give you top tiered quality that will exceed your expectations and last for years to come. In addition, you’ll be supporting my small business!

We’re shooting outdoors. If weather is bad, do we go to a studio?

We will not be going to a studio. I don’t have one! My vision and my passion is the outdoors. We will play it by ear and if the weather is bad enough where it prevents us from taking outdoor photos, we will reschedule. I always have flexibility in my schedule for things like this so we can more than likely reschedule within the week if need be. Luckily, we get over 100 days of sunshine in beautiful Colorado! Also remember, a cloudy day can make for the best lighting. Tree coverage can diffuse wild wind. Snow is dreamy as can be.

Rescheduling because of weather will mostly be due to down pouring rain, wind advisories, or blizzard like conditions. Remember, we are in the mountains of Colorado and weather shifts drastically on any given day- always bring layers and plan for weather to be colder than you anticipate. If we can remove a layer, great! But it is always better to be prepared.

What if my child is uncooperative?

Let them be! Wild children are my favorite and make for the most fun sessions. My sessions are not for your kids to sit nice and smile and behave. They are for them to run free and explore and be silly. And for you to sit back and enjoy that or get in on the fun. Once we get the energy out then comes the snuggles. We are preserving their personalities and spirit, not their fake “cheese” smile. We have plenty of those photos on our cell phone camera rolls.

Kids will have meltdowns too - it happens at nearly all of my family sessions. I have kids of my own and not only do I understand but it doesn’t bother me one bit. I can help control the situation and all I ask is that you never yell at your kids. It will ruin the vibe and the memories. Bring their favorite stuffie or pacifier or something that makes them feel safe for those just incase moments. I know how to turn these times into beautiful momentums too that you will love and will bring back sweet memories. Do know, that meltdowns don’t tend to last long so just be present with your kiddo while they process.

Older kids and teens- expect it and bless it. It will all work out. :)

What should I wear?

Each session comes with styling advice from me. I love helping my clients choose between a few different options whether it is something you already have in your closet, something new, or something in my Client Wardrobe.

I offer further advice and my favorite shops/boutiques which we will go over once booked. In the mean time, here are some of my top TIPS when choosing wardrobe:

  • Make sure whatever you choose is something you can bend over in and snuggle up with your kids/partner/or just yourself without worry of anything spilling out.

  • Neutral everything and texture galore is my favorite.

  • Long are the days of matchy matchy outfits. I highly encourage you NOT to all wear plaid, or white tops and jean bottoms. I love a good pattern but if we are photographing more than 1 person, please limit the number of people wearing a pattern. Solids mixed with one or two patterned outfits will look best and will be more timeless.

  • A bit of skin exposed, with a moveable fabric, will tell a more raw story, even if it’s just a shoulder peaking out or an oversized cardigan/kimono. Flowy maxi dresses and maxi skirts are flattering on every body type and make for some of the most emotive imagery compared to any other piece of women’s clothing. I highly recommend.

  • Men look best in semi-casual pants/shorts. A form fitted shirt or a sweater looks great. Avoid polos, buffalo plaid, and ball caps.

  • Remember, Happy kids = Cooperative kids! Something they can run freely in and feel good in will be perfect.

  • Please, no tennis shoes. Teens with their favorite Vans or Converse is totally cool. That plays into their personality. However, Mom and Dad in New-balance or Nikes can stick out like a sore thumb in photos. Please be comfortable as I tend to have my families adventure a bit with me so hiking sandals, nice boots, other earth toned shoes are great! Barefoot is also very encouraged during the warmer months.

**This does not apply to elderly folks or those with foot issues. Please be safe and comfortable.
